Use Cases
Smart contracts as trusted technology
The project focuses on creating a guidance handbook for implementing smart contracts aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Its impact lies in offering structured methodologies to enhance transparency, sustainability as well as compliance in sectors such as supply chain management, renewable energy trading and data management. The handbook aligns with European sustainability priorities, including the European Green Deal and the ICT Standardisation Plan, by addressing critical challenges like energy efficiency and supply chain visibility.
The handbook aims to complement standards like TS 18126 and PAS 24874, ensuring interoperability and adherence to regulatory requirements. The project’s value lies in providing support to the European industry by proposing standards to enable SMEs to innovate within a robust framework while promoting societal benefits like smarter resource management and enhanced digital infrastructure. This initiative will directly reshape the standardisation landscape while driving innovation in blockchain and DLT applications to advance the achievement of SDGs.
